I got a boo boo the other day...a pretty good one too. I was making dinner and was cleaning up the dishes and stuff that I used and I got to the knives. Well, Rich as this knife that he just sharpened and I was all finished washing it and I was drying it like I always do; blade away from self, between the thumb and fingers and a towel around the knife so that I could dry it. Well, my fingers were farther up than I thought they were and the knife was amazingly sharp and just cut right through the towel and into my middle finger. Luckily, since I was holding it that way, it cut along my finger and not in to my finger. It still hurt pretty bad and of course it was just bleeding like crazy. I was really bummed though because I had to eat with my left hand (I'm right handed) and it was much more difficult that I thought.
It has healed up quite a bit since yesterday but now it feels all bruised (and looks a little bruised too) and I can't bend it very well since it was on the inside of the joint. I think it will get better soon though...I hope. I just don't remember ever getting cut with knives before. I've gotten cuts from other things like xacto knives and stuff like that, but not kitchen knives. I don't know how it happened.

My New Boots
This weekend we went to St Helens. On Saturday I went with Joann and Rich's Aunt Carrie to some stores in Beaverton/Hillsboro. We stopped at GI Joe's (I guess it's just Joe's now) to get something for Tim's birthday and I just happened to walk by the shoes. I was actually looking to see if there were any rainboots and then I saw these other boots instead. I looked at the size and it said 7 (which I'm not) so I looked for another pair. There was one more box at the end of the aisle and it was just my size. I put them on and they felt wonderful, and Joann put on the other pair. They were even on sale for half off!! We thought that there might be some similar shoes at Target though, so we decided to head over there. Once we got there we found out that they didn't have any more of these kinds of boots...they were all spring shoes now! We didn't have time to go back to Joe's so we thought that we would just stop by on Sunday on the way home from church. So we did. We went in and there was only one pair left and it was in my size. I felt bad that the 7's were gone becasue that meant Joann couldn't get any but she said it was okay and that she would look at some other Joe's up in the area. So I got my boots anyway and I wore them on the drive back home and then all day yesterday and most of today. They just feel sooo good and warm and comfy!
Grades
I just had to leave a quick note to say that I finally got my Winter term grades and...
ALL A's!!
(one A- and three A's)
Blanket Square
So, in Rich's family, when someone is having a baby, all the women in the family get a 12 by 12 square of fabric and sew something onto it and then put them all together to make a big blanket. Well, recently one of Rich's cousins had a baby and I got to have a blanket square since I'm part of the family now! I was so excited and I wasn't sure what to do at first and then I decided to cut out a whale and sew it on. It seemed like a great idea and then I went to sew it and my sewing machine was having some weird needle issues (they kept breaking...must have been a bad batch). I really didn't feel like messing up my only square so I thought that I would just sew it by hand. I completely underestimated how long that would take...and how imperfect it would look, but oh well. I finally finished it just the other day and sent it off to another cousin so that it could start getting put together. I don't know what anyone else put on their squares (except Katie...I'm sure I know what's on hers :) ) but I'm sure they all look wonderful. I can't wait to see the finished product. I thought that I would give you a little sneak preview tough so here's what my square looks like!

Sprouts Part II
Rich and I went up to St Helens for the weekend and when we got back I was so excited to see all the little sprouts that had come up! I had a few sprouts last week and they are getting bigger but now they have been joined by lots more little ones. Hopefully they just keep on coming and soon we will have little colorful flowers!
Here is a picture of the progress in week 3!

The Truth
Here is a video that is similar to the lost generation one. This one is about the Truth though, the truth about God!
Sprouts!
About two weeks ago now I planted some flower seeds in all my flower pots on our patio. I went out to check on them today and look at what I found

There are a few more little sprouts coming up in a few other pots too, but not enough to see in the pictures. I hope that the sun stays out for a while so that we will have lots and lots of flowers!

Lost Generation
The other day Rich saw this video and showed it to me. I thought that it was really interesting so I wanted to share it with you.

3 Flowers and a Potato
Last week it was really nice outside and it was warm too! So I decided it was time to put all of my flower pots to good use. I got three different seed packets and Rich got a potato. I filled my pots with fresh soil and planted away! In a big pot I planted Rich's potato and hopefully we will have something latter this summer! I'm praying it works because that would be pretty neat to just got out on the porch and have potatoes for dinner! In another big pot I planted all three of my flower seeds. I planted some Zinnias, Lavender and Dahlias. I have a medium sized pot that I planted all three kinds of flowers in and then I have 12 little pots that I alternated between Zinnias and Dahlias. I'm so excited to have all my seeds planted and ready for spring! Now my little plants just have to grow. In about 3 weeks there should be some sprouts. . . that's the plan anyway!
Beach!
A few weekends ago on Sunday, Rich and I came out of church and it was supposed to be a drizzle-y day but it was actually warm and brilliant sunshine! So we both had the urge to go do something outside so we went over to the beach. It was a beautiful day over there and we had a good time. The wind wasn't blowing too bad, but enough that I was a little cold. So here are a few pictures from out little trip!

Standing in front of a waterfall we found

A sign we saw leaning against the rocks...we're guessing it floated in since there was no river around.

Rich decided he was going to roll this log all the way down to the ocean. I don't know why. When he finally got it down there, it got caught up in a wave and was push about half way back to where he started.

Update Time...
So I haven't posted in a while but school has been keeping me really busy. I have a little time now so I thought I would update how things have been going.
Rich is working away as usual. Just recently he hit his 1 year anniversary for work so he was pretty happy for that. People have been asking him about his job in relation to the economy, and he is doing great. The company he works for has no shortages of jobs to do and has quite a few jobs still lined up, so no need to worry there.
I have been going to school and working. I work in the international student office in a specific department called the English Language Institute. It just work at the front desk and do a lot of copying and filing and answering the phones along with odd jobs here and there. I enjoy it though. I also learned that pronouncing Korean names is so much easier than American names... ha ha! School has been going well. I have about a week and a half before the end of the term and I have three finals at the beginning of the week after. Not too bad! That will give me almost 2 weeks for spring break and I can't wait. I am in the process of filling out the application for the interior design program. I am also still taking the classes to get into nursing school. I figure I have time for both of them and at least I will have a plan B this way. I am hoping to get into the interior design program this year and start my classes. At the end of next year I will apply to a nursing school and if I don't get in, then I will already be a year into the interior design program. If I do get into nursing school...well, it's still a ways away so we will just wait and see.
Other then that, not much is going on around here. I will post a few things that we have been doing the past 3 weeks now :)
