Pumpkin Time

I know it has been a while since I posted but things have been super busy lately. Halloween is this Friday and so we decided it was carving time! I started about a week ago because I was too ambitious...surprise surprise! I wanted to do this whole beach scene and so I started early not thinking about it molding and caving in before Halloween even gets here. So I finally finished yesterday afternoon and well...it doesn't look too good in the light, but in the dark it looks pretty good. Rich did his last night because it was so small. He wanted to do the energizer bunny but then changed his mind when he thought about all the small pieces. So he did Pi...seriously! :) His looks much better in the light...and the dark too because it's so cute and small!

My Husband

I've been tagged by Meg to answer all these questions about my husband...

1. Where did you meet?
At Camp Bradley on summer staff in 2002

2. How long did you date? Oh my, 3 years and 5 months before we got engaged

One of the first pictures of us together

3. How long have you been married? Almost 4 months

Our wedding!

4. What does he say that surprises you? Nothings really that much of a surprise, I guess usually if he comes home from work and says, "I brought you something!" Last time it was a bite size Mr. Goodbar.

5. What is your favorite feature of his? My favorite feature would be his eyes because sometimes they are blueish and sometimes they are green and on one eye he has a little brown dot too. I wish my eyes could change color like that.

6. What is your favorite quality of his?
I love that Rich is such a hard worker. It makes me feel good to know that he works hard at his job because he wants me to be able to not work if I don't want/need to.

7. Does he have a nickname for you?
uh... it's usually Al but last time it was snuffles. I have no idea why but I like it. :)

8. What is his favorite color?
Last I heard it was blue.

9. What is his favorite food? I'm not too sure of a favorite, but we seem to be having tacos a lot lately. Pretty much whatever he can put Diablo Sauce on.

10. What is his favorite sport? Wrestling

11. When and where did you first kiss? I have no idea...that was a while ago. I'm thinking his car after dropping me off? I have a horrible memory ha ha.

12. What is your favorite thing to do as a couple?
Watch Top Gear. I'm only sort of kidding, we like just spending time outdoors too. Camping is fun!

Getting ready to go backpacking
13. Do you have any children? Nope

14. Does he have a hidden talent? If I knew it wouldn't be much of a hidden talent ;) The ability to do math very quickly in his head...I have to write it out in the air if I don't have a pencil or paper around... Crazy!

15. How old is he?
He is 23

16. Who said "I love you" first?
I don't remember. I think it was him actually.

17. What is his favorite type of music?
It seems to change every few weeks. Lately he just wants to listen to country.

18. What do you most admire about him? He is loving and kind and willing to do anything that I ask him, even go out looking for shoes!

19. Do you think he will read this?
I know he won't, unless I ask him to.

I would tag someone else at this point but since the only other person with a blog that I know is Meg and well...she tagged me first.

Pumpkin Time!

Rich and I were planning on going to the pumpkin patch this weekend but when we found out that it would cost $10 just to get in and then who knows how much for pumpkins...we decided to go with good ol' Winco! We got pumpkins and I'm so excited. I can't wait to get carving. I'm a little scared that someone is going to come smash them though as soon as we put them out on the porch :( I guess we'll just wait and see.

3 down, 7 to go

I've been back to school for almost three weeks now. It's been going pretty well. I have one interior design class that's basically a review of some classes I had at PCC last year, so I should be able to do pretty well in that class. I have an anthropology class that I have to take and it's not my favorite but it's required and it's not really hard...you just have to watch these movies and then write some form of a paper at the end of the week. I have a sociology class that seems interesting. We usually end up talking about something completely different than what the class is about, but when we do talk about sociology, it's pretty interesting. I have a history class that's early american history until 1820. I have a paper due tomorrow so I've been working on that this whole past week. Then I have a statistics class that isn't quite what I expected. I really enjoy math but statistics isn't really math...it's basically using common sense. It's been more challenging for me than I expected only becasue I have a hard time not using any sort of math equation or thinking that something doesn't seem to be working out math wise. I think I've finally got the hang of it though. I also just got a job! I work at the English Learning Institute...it's a school for international students at OSU so it's still on campus. I've only worked for a couple days but I'm enjoying it so far. Not many leaves are changing on campus but there is one tree outside one of the buildings I have class in.

Here's campus!

Cha cha changes...

The weather has changed quite a bit around here. Currently it's only 50 degrees outside and it was raining for a little bit. The clouds broke up and the sun came out for a little bit and it looked so pretty. The leaves on all the trees are still green but we do have one tree right outside our porch that has been orange for months now. I just took a few pictures so you could see what's going on in our neck of the woods.

Cookies

Rich has been in the mood for some chocolate chip cookies, so when we were at Winco the other day we went to get some and he noticed there were butterscotch chips. I was really looking forward to chocolate chips but I figured I'll just have to make those another time. So we got some butterscotch chips and I made some cookies. They actually turned out really good. Lately it seems that I have problems baking things in the oven, but these were great! I used the Nestle Toll House (or as Phoebe would say...Nestle Toulouse ;) ) I just used butterscotch chips instead of chocolate chips! Since there's no way that we could eat all of these before they go bad, I took some in to Rich's work this morning and everyone seemed to be so amazed that I actually made the cookies!

Tomaotes...

So lately Rich has been bring home tomatoes from work. One of his bosses has a big garden and keeps bringing them in, so Rich keeps bringing them home. I personally don't like tomatoes and Rich can only eat so many at a time so I'm just wondering what you can do with...well, lots of tomatoes? And they're not just normal tomatoes...they are HUGE tomatoes too!
Just look at the size of those...That is a big punch bowl and I only fit four tomatoes around the bottom and three more sitting on top. What do I do with them? They all got ripe at the same time too.

Rain Rain...

So I'm just wondering how this whole week can be gorgeous and then the weekend comes around and BAM! Rain pouring from the sky...From the time I left class to the time I got home I probably could have collected a whole cup of water...ugh
